Robert Nesta Marley was born in February 6, 1945 Nine Mile, Saint Anna, Jamaica. He was the most famous reggae singer, but he wasn’t only a singer. He was a songwriter and activist.

Marley’s best hits are:
‘‘I shot the sheriff”
‘‘No Woman no cry”
‘‘Three little birds”
‘‘Redemption Song”

Robert Marley’s father was a white England Marine officer and his mother was black native, but when Marley was born his parents broke up. When he was 10 years old his father died of a heart attack aged 60 after that he moved to a simple home in a poor street of Jamaica, he suffered racial prejudice during his youth, because of his mixed racial origins. Faced questions about his own racial identity throughout his life.

He once reflected:
‘‘I don't have prejudice against himself. My father was a white and my mother was black. Them call me half-caste or whatever. Me don't dip on nobody's side. Me don't dip on the black man's side nor the white man's side. Me dip on God's side, the one who create me and cause me to come from black and white.”

Because of that story Bob transformed a famous activist and precursor of reggae way of life, wanted peace, love and friendship. Robert Nest Marley died in 1981 because of cancer.
