Dream Theater is a progressive metal band, which was formed in 1985, in Boston, under the name "Majesty" by John Myung,, John Petrucci, and Mike Portnoy. During this time a number of lineup changes followed. The three original members remain today along with James LaBrie and Jordan Rudess.

The band is well known for the technical proficiency of instrumentalists, who have won many awards from music instruction magazines. Dream Theater's members have collaborated with many other notables musicians. Guitarist John Petrucci was named as the third player on the G3 tour six times, more than any other invited guitarist, following in the footsteps of Eric Johnson, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.

Brazil Tour Chaos in Motion 2008 The Dream Theater is currently promoting their latest album, Systematic Chaos. Last weekend they played in Rio de janeiro (Mar 07 2008), São Paulo(Mar 08 2008) and Belo Horizonte (Mar 09 2008).
