Jota Quest is a band from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Its original name was J.Quest and for copyright troubles with Hanna-Barbera, right detainer of Johnny Quest cartoon, the name was changed to JOTA QUEST, ending this question. The band is formed by Rogério Flausino (vocal), Marco Túlio Lara (guitar), Márcio Buzelin (key), PJ (bass guitar) and Paulinho Fonseca (drums).
Jota Quest represents the "mineira" traditional music, with its hard pop-funk and has been printing its mark in the brazilian pop-rock scenery since 1996. After the three first years (1993-1995) in the underground circuit of Belo Horizonte and the record of an independent album, the group obtained a contract and launched out their first album in October 1996.
At the moment the group is releasing the recent DVD “Até Onde Vai?” Live! with the show recorded in September 2006. The concert was in the amphitheatre Pôr-do-Sol, in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. In this DVD, there's a documentary about the 10 years of the group’s history.
